ACTION PLANS

Regional action plans are coordinated efforts for partners to strategically address marine debris. Due to the complexity of marine debris issues, there is a role for everyone in the implementation of a plan, including the private citizen who picks up litter from our beaches and watersheds as well as governments, industries, non-governmental organizations, and academic institutions that support a wide range of activities like cleanups, research, education, and outreach. Initial discussions on action plans are in progress throughout the Pacific U.S. Territories.The Hawaii Marine Debris Action Plan documents are available for download below.

2010 - 2020 HIMDAP Accomplishments Report

The Hawai'i Marine Debris Action Plan 2010-2020 Accomplishments Report provides a history of the Hawai'i Marine Debris Action Plan and celebrates the accomplishments of the community. Over the ten years of the plan, partnerships and participation have increased, and together this steadfast community has made huge strides in understanding and mitigating marine debris in the islands.
